A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
